Robel Yemane is a multidisciplinary entrepreneur whose career spans architecture, real estate, marketing, transportation, and community building.
Born in Sudan and raised in St. Louis after his family immigrated to the U.S., Robel’s journey is defined by resilience, adaptability, and impact. After earning architecture degrees, including graduate study in Australia, he launched his career during the 2009 recession, navigating job instability with determination. From working in call centers and warehouses to teaching engineers in Eritrea, every step prepared him for entrepreneurship.
Today, Robel is the co-founder of Core Design Impact, a human-centered architecture and engineering firm, and founder of Marathon Real Estate, which focuses on development, acquisitions, and capital investment. He also co-leads The Lead Code, a creative marketing agency, and co-operates Open Ground Collective, an educational real estate platform with monthly speaking panels.
Robel Yemane Built a Legacy of Entrepreneurship and Community.
Robel Yemane’s impressive portfolio, spanning architecture, real estate, finance, marketing, and community building, reads like the resume of 10 different people. But behind his success lies a relentless drive, a deep commitment to uplifting others, and an immigrant’s unwavering determination to create opportunities where none existed. From his early struggles adapting to life in America to becoming a sought-after entrepreneur and impact ambassador, Yemane’s story is one of resilience, reinvention, and inspiration.
Born in Khartoum, Sudan, in 1985, Robel Yemane entered the world amidst uncertainty. His parents, fleeing a civil war, sought a better life, and when Robel was five, they won a visa lottery to move to the United States. The family settled in St. Louis, where Robel’s challenges shifted from war-torn uncertainty to the struggles of assimilation.
SoleTies Run Club Takes a Different Approach to Bring Community Together.
In the U.S. and worldwide, human connection has been weighed down by geopolitics and plagued by mental health challenges, a domino effect of the external force. The need for an authentic connection has never been greater, now more than ever. Yet, for many, community feels elusive. That is why SoleTies Run Club, co-founded by Robel Yemane, is rewriting that narrative. “At SoleTies, we build community first,” he shares.
Founded as a nonprofit, the Houston-based SoleTies Run Club isn’t for fitness. It is a vehicle for belonging, vulnerability, and healing, especially for those who’ve felt out of place, unseen, or unsupported. The weekly Wednesday and Saturday runs are just the entry point. What follows is something much deeper.
